Man arrested for stabbing in Salytien Centre

A 37-year-old Italian man has been arrested by National Police after stabbing the owner of a bar in the Salytien Centre in the Costa Adeje.  The attack happened around 11.30pm Monday night, when according to police sources the man arrived at the bar and accused the owner of owing his partner, an Italian woman who worked there, several months' wages.  An argument ensued, which culminated in the stabbing, and while the aggressor fled, witnesses called emergency services who transferred the victim to hospital where he received ten stitches and remains in a serious condition. Police picked his attacker up shortly afterwards near the Monkey pub; he is said not to have offered any resistance to his arrest, and the matter now been handed over to Arona Courts for processing.  JA
