Woman dies after falling into sea in La Matanza

A  40-year-old woman, said to be a foreigner, died early this afternoon after falling into the sea in the La Caleta area of La Matanza in north Tenerife. Her body was recovered by a search and rescue helicopter after emergency services received a call just before 2pm reporting her fall. A rescuer was winched down from the helicopter to rescue her and she was flown into land on a roundabout parallel to the TF5, but paramedics from the Centro de Salud de La Victoria could do no more than confirm the death of the poor woman.
