It's time again for this perennially popular walk, and hopefully the pictures HERE from last year will encourage even more people to try it this time. Santiago del Teide's 2013 Almond Blossom Route is on Saturday, 26 January, and once again there will  be two routes: a 4.5 hour walk of high-level difficulty which will depart from the plaza del Ayuntamiento and the other, of medium-low-level difficulty, a 3 hour walk leaving from El Calvario de Los Baldíos in El Valle de Arriba. Walkers will leave in groups from 8.30am, with the route going through the Chinyero forest reserve to Arguayo, where there will be free transport back to the start.

The ever-increasing numbers of tourists and hikers expected mean that places are limited  and so inscription is required. Those who want to take part can sign up from next Monday, 14 January at Santiago del Teide's concejalía de Cultura or by telephone to 922 863 127 ext. 234 between 8am and 3pm. Inscription costs the nominal priec of €4.
