It just beggars belief. Our Rosie is a podenco and the thought of her being thrown into a barranco, alive, to hit the bottom and be crushed, to die alone .....

Thanks to the Guardia Civil's Seprona Unit, an Arona man was arrested yesterday on charges of animal mistreatment for doing just that, throwing living Podencos down the Barranco del Rey. The arrest followed denuncias made to the police by Addanca, famous for bringing the Vela case to a successful conclusion (see HERE). I know times are hard, and I know Podencos have a bad time of it at the best of times, but we're not talking one or two dogs here. We are taking a dozen or so. Whoever the police have arrested has been identified because at least two of the dogs seems to have been chipped. He seems to have admitted charges of animal cruelty, specifically of throwing his dogs down the barranco. The Guardia Civil is continuing to investigate the case. I could make some suggestions to save some time and money ....

And if proven Guilty I'd almost certainly agree with all of your suggestions.

Count me in. Vile fucker.

In better news, there's an exhibition of podencos on (I think) 16 March in a village north of us.  For details, consult the wall on the Shell station on the southbound carriageway of the TF-82 from Tejina de Isora.
