Briton dies while diving in Gran Canaria

A 40-year-old British man has died while diving off the Playa de Amadores in Gran Canaria. The tragedy happened just after 11.15 this morning and the poor soul was pulled unconscious from the water. Emergency services continued the efforts of a lifeguard at the beach to try to resuscitate him, but after half an hour they sadly had to declare him dead at the scene.
