If you like gospel music, then not to be missed is a concert on Thursday, 6 December, at 9pm in the Auditorio Infanta Leonor in Los Cristianos by the London Community Gospel Choir. It was formed in 1982 by Reverend Bazil Meade, known as the father of British gospel music, and Lawrence Jonson, Delroy Powell and John Francis, and it is now in its third decade having performed with some of the biggest names including George Michael, Jessye Norman, Sting, Elton John, Diana Ross, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion and Tina Turner. The above video was filmed at a recording at the legendary Abbey Road studios of their 21st anniversary album and it gives a flavour of what can be expected. They are reputed to be phenomenal to watch live, so perhaps it's not to be missed even for those who aren't gospel aficionados. Tickets, which cost €15, are available from the Cafetería outside the Auditorio between 8am and midnight every day, or from the box office two hours before the performance. JA
