There's an orange alert for a cold snap bringing wild seas, high winds, rain, and snow above 1,500, the whole national park is virtually shut down with the Teleférico shut and the two north access roads closed to traffic, and yet emergency services have to turn out to search for a German walker who has gone missing this morning in the Masca barranco. GES search and rescue teams are involved, as are bomberos and the Guardia Civil. Given the advance notice this weather front has received over the past few days, I wouldn't be too happy if I were one of them ... Is it him again?
I hope they find him alive, so they can bill him!
ditto, Guanche! Don't know, myrtle, but whoever it is I hope they throw the book at him if he's found safe.
edit: he's a 29-year-old who was reported missing at 10 pm last evening, the report being made by family who had left him at the top of the barranco to walk down to the coast.
Bomberos have found the 29-year-old who was reported missing at 10pm last evening. His family had called in emergency services after leaving him at the top of the barranco to walk down to the coast.
