Title: Police warning of virus email sent in their name
Post by: Janet on Mon 3 Jun 2013, 12:23
The police have warned that a new edition of an existing virus is doing the rounds by email falsely using the name of the Dirección General de la Policía. The message says that it is a notification of Court attendance for a drugs hearing and requests recipients to click on an attachment link. It reads:

QuoteNotificación de Asistencia en la Audiencia en el procedimiento de que se trata en esta conducta regional. Procedimiento de esclarecimiento anti drogas.

On opening the attachment, a virus is downloaded. Police are investigating and request that anyone who receives such an email does not click on the link and reports the receipt of the email.
