Sorry to keep asking questions Janet  :-[ But is this a Spanish thing or a regional thing?

Janet

Sorry for any alarm caused but it was as well to try to get feedback given the awful prospect of huge deposits required for residents to get their Certificados de Registro. I can now, though, confirm that the confirmed figure is, in fact, €5,200. This was required to be proven by means of a bank statement in credit by such a sum per person at the time of application. So this measure is really aimed at the poorest of the Eu immigrant population. Although I would question in the present climate why anyone who is not self sufficient would want to come to Spain. As it stands now, and in truth always has been, all that anyone who comes to Spain, and is not self sufficient and not working, can expect from the state is emergency health care, nothing more...........I think? :undecided:

I wonder if it's ok to mention that recently I knew of a group of people applying for their CdR or similar under these conditions, who transferred the same money between each of their accounts in turn printing a statement each time.....  :-X
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

It does seem a simple hurdle to over come.
