This one is from around 5.00 this afternoon, looking west to La Gomera with El Hierro in the background with the sun reflecting off the ocean.
[attach=1]
That is stunning!!
Here's one looking the other way, up the hill from the bottom of our garden just as the sun is coming up over the crater edge ...
[attachimg=1]
Around 18.00 I took this one. Pity about the new polideportivo lights in the foreground. But of them all, this was the one most in focus with my little point and shoot camera.
[attach=1]
Oh that's beautiful! :clap:
Here is a selection of the progression of the sunset on the 19th:

Clouds from last night's sunset.

I'm glad you took that because I nearly did, but got distracted by an idiot hound when I came in for the camera. It was stunning, and that photo does it justice!

That is so beautiful! The way the coulours all merge is fantastic. It looks like someone has smeared with paint.
Rainbow over Tejina mountain - a rare event.
[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]
That looks like Rainbow number 3 which we escaped just about that time this morning. Rainbow number 1 soaked us as did number 2. I am now frightened of rainbows.
:rainbow:
I was going to put the pic below in the the "Well blow me down" thread, because, well blow me down, I've never seen a horizontal rainbow before. But since Perikles included rainbows here I am putting it here. This picture was taken this morning from near the base of the mountain above, looking to the north toward Los Gigantes. I know the colours didn't come out so well but that is actually a horizontal rainbow!
[attach=1]
wow! that's something I've never seen before either!

That looks really weird, even less circular than mine. The thing is, it's not actually possible to have a horizontal rainbow because the angle between the line from you to the sun and the line from you to every point on the rainbow must be around 42ยบ. The smaller the section viewed, the flatter it will look. Strange effect though.
I'm majoring on sunsets. Here's last night's.
[attach=1]
That is beautiful. :sign0098:
Oh that is really lovely :clap:
Tonight's sunset.

Isn't it amazing how it can be so very different one night after another?! That gold one, though, is poster-good ... I'd buy that ...

Yes I think it's the connection. I'm downloading stuff at the same time ... maybe it uses up a lot of bandwidth. But I can only see half of my tree.
I can see it all ... it's beautiful :tiphat:

You're not that good at spelling it either :cheesy: :cheesy:

It's a blue chaffinch, a Canary Islands endemic.
Now I see you said blue chaffinch on your original post which was disguised by the picture. I can see it now, but going through the bird book would not have picked it out.
Birdds.
Yesterday's sunset.

Wonderful! I did notice it was a gorgeous sunset yesterday but i didn't take any pictures. Yours are fab :clap:
